Chinese Forget-Me-Not Seeds For Planting (Cynoglossum amabile) 500 Seeds Per Pack

Grow a garden filled with Chinese Forget-Me-Not, from freshly harvested Cynoglossum amabile flower seeds. Chinese Forget-Me-Not will produce indigo-blue flowers atop attractive green foliage, which grows to a mature height of 18 to 24 inches tall. The blooms measure to roughly a half inch in diameter. The difference from regular Forget-Me-Not and Chinese Forget-Me-Not can be seen from the centers of the flowers, as well as the petal formation. Myosotis will display a more slendered petal with small yellow centers, while Chinese Forget-Me-Not blooms display a deep blue center, with shorter, more rounded petals. These plants are known to attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, such as bumblebees, butterflies, hummingbirds and honeybees as well.

Chinese Forget-Me-Not is established as an annual / biennial flowering plant. They grow quickly from fresh wildflower seeds, bloom profusely through the warm months of Summer and will later wilt with the cooler temperatures of Late Autumn and early Winter. The seeds can naturally drop to the bare ground beneath, allowing fresh, new plant life to regrow the following season. If your winter temperatures aren’t too severe, the plants can also regrow themselves from deeply established roots.

Chinese Forget-Me-Not plants are the perfect candidate for use as a cut flower, due to their long slender stems. Enjoy their royal blue flowers in floral arrangements and bouquets, or dry them out for use in arts and crafts.

Sowing The Seed

Chinese Forget-Me-Not flower seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors. If started indoors, we recommend sowing in peat pots, 6 to 8 weeks prior to the last frost. Sow the seeds directly to the surface of the soil, in groups of 2 or 3 per pot. Cover the seeds thinly, with roughly 1/4″ of topsoil. Transplant entire pots, or direct sow outdoors when the weather is warm and all danger of frost has passed.

Growing Conditions

Chinese Forget-Me-Not plants are fond of areas that receive full sunlight, with temperatures of at least 70F, or more. You should also provide a soil that is moderately rich, to average, but also well drained. To improve drainage, we recommend adding a light compost to any areas that consist of hard, compact soil. Water the seeds lightly each day, with a mist setting or spray bottle, to ensure that they receive enough moisture to germinate properly.

Germination & Growth

Chinese Forget-Me-Not seeds usually begin to germinate within roughly 7 to 14 days after sowing. The plants reach a mature height of roughly 18 to 24 inches tall, spanning 8 to 12 inches wide. The plants themselves can be spaced roughly 12 to 18 inches apart from one another. Chinese Forget-Me-Not flowers are often times used as a cut flower and can be added to floral arrangements & bouquets as well. They will also attract an array of beneficial insects to the garden, such as bumblebees, hummingbirds, butterflies & most importantly, the honeybee.
